Statement of Faith

We believe in one God who exists as three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Each of these persons has the essence, attributes and divine perfection of God.

We believe that God the Father is Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. He is concerned with the affairs of men and women, hears and answers prayer, saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son. He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

We believe in the person and divinity of the Holy Spirit Who testifies to the validity of the Scriptures, Who convicts the world of sin, Who imparts wisdom and insight to all believers, Who regenerates the sinner, Who directs the sacred understanding of each believer, Who affirms that we are indeed “children of God”, and Who guides and exhorts mankind in living out the myriad circumstances of life.

We believe that God’s divine revelation, announced first through the prophets and later through Jesus Christ Himself and His Apostles, is infallible in its original texts, and is therefore absolute, having been compiled into the work of the Holy Scriptures. By the term “Holy Scriptures” we understand that all sixty-six books of the Bible (the Canon) are contained therein. We further acknowledge that “all Scripture is God-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16), and that it was proclaimed “not in words taught us by human wisdom” (1 Cor. 2:13) “but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet. 1:21).

We believe that man was created by God in “his image and likeness” but as a result of the Fall he became subject to the impact of sin. Sin penetrated the core essence of the human being, and as a result man became spiritually dead (separated from God as the source of all life).

We believe that “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Cor. 15: 3, 4), “the righteous for the unrighteous” (I Pet. 3:18) having become the ultimate sacrifice for man’s sins. Through the shedding of His precious blood, and His death on the Cross, Jesus Christ has redeemed sinful mankind from the slavery of sin, and has thus proclaimed him to be righteous and reconciled to God. We believe that at the beginning of a Christian’s new life God proclaims the believer to be righteous; that Salvation comes only through the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and that it is a gift of grace bestowed by God. It cannot be earned by the performance of good works, nor by the keeping of religions rituals and traditions.

We believe that regeneration is a new and spiritual life that occurs because of the manifestation of faith in Jesus Christ as one’s personal Savior. As a result of living by faith man becomes a new creature able to walk in truth and holiness.

We believe that through spiritual rebirth a believer has evidence pertaining to the inheritance of eternal life. Assurance of one’s salvation is unalterable knowledge which stems from faith in the reliable and divine revelations of God, and testifies to a correct relationship with Him.

We believe that the Church consists of true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who believe in Him as their personal Lord and Savior and who are called by God “into the kingdom of the Son he loves” (Col. 1:13). The Church is the Body and the Bride of Jesus; every believer has been baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a one time event that happens at the moment of regeneration.

We believe that saints of the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ are called to be spiritually separate from the world. Being separate does not require believers to be isolated, because every believer is to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ and His work of bringing the Gospel to sinful humanity. Holy separation means that we are “to be in the world” (John 17:18), but “to be not of this world” (John 17:16).

We believe in the miracle of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. He died, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He is the High Priest and Advocate of everyone who comes to Him in faith.

We believe in the forthcoming powerful and gloriously personal return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (at His Second Coming), which is the genuine hope and desire of every believer.

We believe in God’s Final Judgment resulting in reward and punishment, in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, and in the eternity of their lives whether in heaven or in hell.
